Delete your Nkhape account
Applies to the Nkhape app on Android and iPhone.
In the app
- Open Nkhape and sign in.
- Tap Account at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Delete account, enter your password and confirm.
You are signed out on every phone straight away. You can sign up again later with the same number.
You can’t delete your account during an active escort; finish or cancel it first. Officers who are still owed earnings can delete their account once those have been paid.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app or can’t sign in, email privacy@nkhape.co.za with the cellphone number on your account. To make sure nobody deletes someone else’s account, we’ll confirm the request with you on that number before deleting it. We aim to do this within 7 days.
What is deleted
- Your name, cellphone number, password and vehicle details.
- Your notification tokens, so this phone stops receiving Nkhape alerts.
- Drivers: the route of each past escort. Only a rough pickup area (about 1 km) is kept, without your name.
- Officers: your certificate references, vehicle details and bank account holder name.
What is kept, and why
- Escort dates, charges, top-ups and payouts, without your name, because the law requires us to keep financial records.
- Officers: your PSIRA number stays with the escorts you carried out, so an incident can still be investigated.
- Our audit log of staff actions.
Unused kilometres are lost when a driver deletes their account. See the privacy policy for more.
